I’m not in the real estate business, but when I see a theme that looks as good as AgentPress Pro…. I wish I was.
AgentPress Pro is the successor to the hugely popular AgentPress child theme from StudioPress, which set the standard for so long for real estate themes.
The new version has been brought up to date it looks gorgeous, is a dream to set up and integrates perfectly with the AgentPress Listings plugin.
Rise above the market and achieve results by showcasing your professional services and up-to-the-minute resources with the buyer-friendly layouts of AgentPress. Your clients will thank you for it.
AgentPress Pro comes packed with features
AgentPress Pro is a modern WordPress real estate theme built on Genesis 2.0. It’s HTML5 enabled, fully Mobile responsive and is packed with features.
Genesis 2.0 was released in August 2013 and since then StudioPress have been updating old themes and producing new themes to be HTML5 ready.
For a full list of HTML5 ready child themes check out All the latest Genesis child themes.
Here’s a quick rundown of the general features that you’ll find in AgentPress Pro:
- Fully widgetised homepage – setting up the homepage and the rest of the theme is just a matter of dragging and dropping widgets into widget areas and adding your own content… none of that nasty coding required.
- Four fabulous colour schemes – choose a colour scheme that matches your corporate image and colours. Choose from blue, green, gold and red. The demo site uses red.
- Six layout options – choose from six layouts for all your listing, pages and posts including a full-width option.
- Custom background and custom header – easily and quickly upload your own background and header images using the WordPress uploader.
- Custom Menus – supports WordPress custom menus.
- Featured Images – supports WordPress featured images.
- Four Page Templates – comes with archives, blog, columns and landing page templates.
All great features, but what about the features that make this theme a dedicated real estate theme? The features that make it easy to add and display listings and make it easy for your visitors to enter their own search criteria and find their dream property?
Dedicated real estate features of AgentPress Pro
A real estate theme only has to do two things, but it has to do them well – it has to:
- Display your listings, in a visually pleasing and easy to access way.
- Allow your visitors to search your listings based on their specific search criteria.
AgentPress Pro is configured to work perfectly with the AgentPress Listings plugin… and that’s where the magic begins.
Once you install the AgentPress Listings plugin a new section called “Listings” appears in your toolbar on the LHS of your WordPress dashboard. Two Widgets also appear in your Widgets area: an AgentPress – Listing Search Widget and an AgentPress – Featured Listings Widget.
Listings in your toolbar
From the Listings menu you can add Taxonomies and Listing Terms and create Listings for each of your properties.
- Create Taxonomies – allows you to create / add your own search criteria for properties such as location, price, bedrooms etc.
- Create Listing Terms – once you have your Listing Taxonomies set up, you can create the “Terms” associated with each Taxonomy. For instance under the Taxonomy of Bedrooms you could use the Terms two bedroom, three bedroom etc.
- Create Property Listings – create Listings for each of your properties, assign a featured image and Taxonomies and Terms.
AgentPress – Listing Search Widget
The AgentPress – Listing Search Widget is used in the Home Featured widget area to create the Search bar. The Search bar uses the Taxonomies and Terms created using the Listings menu.
AgentPress – Featured Listings widget
The AgentPress – Featured Listings widget is used in the Home Top widget area and on the demo site is configured to display 6 recent listings. These listings display in three columns and two rows.
If that all sounds a bit complicated then take a look at this short video by Genesis developer Carrie Dils, which shows you how easy it is to use the AgentPress Listings plugin to set up the “search bar” area.
Setting up AgentPress Pro
You might think that a theme that has the functionality of AgentPress Pro is difficult to set up. Fortunately the Genesis developers have done all the hard work… so that we don’t have to.
The whole theme is set up using plugins and widget areas. All you have to do is drag and drop a few widgets, do a little typing and hit save.
To replicate the demo site you need to install four plugins:
When you purchase a StudioPress child theme, you’ll be given access to the StudioPress download area.
